To Design a custom jacket for actor Victor Carrillo Tracey for Opening Night of Broadway’s The Outsiders, I was privy to the set design of one of the most epic moments of the show.

The image of the mustang during the iconic rumble in the rain is hand-beaded on the back of the jacket. To illuminate the lights of the car, each headlights were beading over mirrors. Chain links around the shoulders and arm represent the fences and railroads dividing the opposing groups. The stars above are for each of “The Outsiders.”

Special thanks to Beck Leppert for the custom build and Lily Barnes, our NYC tailor.

HALLOWEEN

Halloween is more than a favorite holiday. Halloween is a production. My costume is a pursuit.

Since studying Costume and Performance Design, Halloween has become an excuse to independently create a show piece that pushes concept and technique.

Every October, I challenge myself to go bigger and better than ever before whilst following my two rules.

1. I can’t be anything I’ve seen done before, in person or online, the costume must be my idea.

2. I have to make it.

The unofficial third rule is that for the month of October, I take you into my studio with videos, snippets and snapshots on Tiktok, Instagram, and YouTube. I document the chaos of creating the costume from the first sketch to the final photoshoot.

THE TATTOO JACKET

A woman with brown hair and fair skin posing outdoors in front of autumn trees with yellow leaves. She is dressed in a black lace top with colorful embroidered details and a black fuzzy jacket. She is also wearing a red skirt and accessorized with rings and earrings.

This jacket is about the beauty and intensity of expressing oneself with tattoos. It is a conversation with myself, pondering & playing with thoughts of tattooing my skin.
